Profil et Recherches

My research has focused on questions about the interface of phonology and phonetics, at both higher and lower levels of the prosodic hierarchy. My research spans various phonetically-interesting phonological phenomena such as vowel reduction, complex segmenthood, and incomplete neutralization. Recently, my interests have turned to questions related to the interaction between the spatio-temporal organization of gestures and the cognitive aspects of sound structures. I am particularly interested in how higher-level prosodic structure can help us better understand lower-level segmental patterns, and the gestural coordination that defines them.
