Heritage Instruments

Following the example of the CNRS History Committee, the LPP has decided to make a concerted effort to preserve its historic instrumentation.

Scientific heritage is experiencing a renewal of interest and has been showcased by major French research organizations. In addition, 2013 marked the creation of the Foundation for Heritage Sciences. As a result, many laboratories have started to promote the value of their scientific collections. In this context, we decided that it was important to inventory the current state of the instruments used in experimental phonetics at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th that are currently preserved at the LPP and the Institut de Linguistique et Phonétique Générales et Appliquées.

Here are the different historic instruments that the LPP has restored.
