Members

The Phonetics and Phonology Lab (Laboratoire de Phonétique et Phonologie, LPP) is made up of permanent members, non-permanent, affiliates, and doctoral students.

The permanent members are tenured staff and faculty: CNRS researchers, faculty at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University, CNRS research engineers, and a CNRS administrative manager.

Non-permanent members include researchers and engineers working on a contract basis, who may be employed by either the CNRS or the Sorbonne Nouvelle University, and doctoral students at the lab who do not have financial support for their research. For three years after defending their dissertation, all LPP doctoral students automatically become non-permanent members of the lab unless they have a primary affiliation elsewhere.

The LPP is the primary affiliation for permanent and non-permanent members, and doctoral students.

Affiliate members are researchers or faculty whose primary academic affiliation is at another institution.
To become an affiliate member of the lab, an application dossier must be submitted for consideration by the lab’s council.
