Honors
- 2019: Martine Adda-Decker was elected an ISCA fellow for contributions to multilingual speech processing and large-scale, corpus-based linguistics, and for bridging communities.
- 2014: Jacqueline Vaissière was elected as ISCA fellow for her pioneering works in clinical phonetics and her immense role at the interface between phonetics, phonology and speech engineering.
- 2011: Jacqueline Vaissière was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor.
- 2009: Jacqueline Vaissière received the CNRS Silver Medal in section 34, Language Sciences.
- 2006: Jacqueline Vaissière received the medal of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (Chennai, India).
- 2005: Cécile Fougeron, research fellow at the CNRS, received the CNRS Bronze Medal in section 34, Language Sciences.
Thesis prizes
- 2025: Xuejing Chen received the Prize for Eloquence and the Audience Choice Prize in the 2025 “My thesis in 180 seconds” contest in China.
- 2009: Martine Today received the 2009 AFCP scientific prize for her thesis entitled “Articulatory and acoustic study of sibilant fricatives.”
- 2004: Rachid Ridouane received the 2004 AFCP scientific prize for his thesis entitled “Consonant clusters in Berber: phonetics and phonology.”
Appointments
- 2010: Jacqueline Vaissière, Professor of Phonetics at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University-Paris 3, was named a senior member of the Insitut Universitaire de France (IUF) for a period of five years (2010-2015).
- 2009: Jean-Léo Léonard, Associate Professor at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University-Paris 3, was named a senior member of the Insitut Universitaire de France (IUF) for a period of five years (2009-2014).
