The LPP has owned an electromagnetic articulograph (EMA, AG501) since December 1, 2019.
This system captures articulatory movement using sensors that detect a magnetic field created by transmitter coils. The system is primarily used to study movements of the tongue and lips. When combined with acoustics, it enables study of lingual and labial coarticulation.
